Truckquip Sdn Bhd is a subsidiary of the Tan Chong Group and its main function is providing shared-service (major on truck and buses) to the entire group in term of technical support, product development, new business development, specification selection and R&D services. In year 2013, Truckquip had expended its business model into body building and chassis assembly business and setup its first Manufacturing plant at Seri Kembangan.

UD Bus Chassis Distributor, faced many challenges resolving quality complaints on Bus Body issues.

Strategy review - started to venture into Bus Body Building Business to provide a total solution to the End-Customer

Pioneering BB Team under TQ was formed.

Site visit to major players in the region began.

Obtained approval from the Board to venture into Bus Building Business

Same year 2010, TQ obtained the Manufacturing License from MITI

A young and dynamic R&D team was formed and started the bus body design from scratch via Reverse Engineering (RE) method

TQ Bus Body Project started as a self-funded venture internally within the group.
